My sister-in-law called early wednseday morning worried that my brother hadn't made it home from the farm last night. She waited up for him until 3am, couldn't get him on his cell and she finally dozed off. It wasn't totally unusual for him to be out at the farm late, waiting for a pivot sprinkler to finish a field or something.

As soon as I put the phone down this morning from her call, I headed to the farms. I found him trapped under a plow he'd been working on. The tractor wasn't running, he'd shut the engine off after raising the plow to work on it. The hydraulic system failed to hold it up and the plow trapped him. He was kneeling, reaching upward to free some fence wire when it must have rapidly lowered on him. It looks like he must have suffocated with the weight of the machine resting upon his back.

I am devastated. We fussed and fought too much, but he was my only sibling and my best friend.

So sorry to hear about Paul.   Although I had only met him, I understand how hard it is to loose a brother so young.  He will live in your heart and memories forever. You are in my thoughts and prayers, God Bless.

Lloyd

Thanks for the kind words. It's been a week now since the accident, Drew Travis came back to do his eulogy Tuesday. It was a beautiful service with lots of relatives and friends I'd not seen in a long time. I'm in a better place now thanks in no small part to everyone's well wishes.

Steve,

I was so sorry to hear about you brother. I don't recall ever meeting him. I believe all siblings fuss and argue some, but that never destroys the love we have for each other.

Happy 2015! I just sent an email to all but since I have received a number of "bouncebacks" I thought I would post on the site, too.  Our 45th anniversary of graduation is coming up this year.  I don't know about you, but I cannot figure out where the time went.  It seems to me that time flies whether or not you are having fun!  If you are interested in getting together in July (18th is the parade and other festivities) let me know and I will be happy to start coordinating an event.  It may not have the goody bags like our 40th but I am sure we can pull something together that will be enjoyable for all.  There are fewer and fewer of us as time goes by so I advocate getting together when possible.  The older I get the more I realize what an integral part of my childhood you all were and how each of you in some way has touched my life.  Good, bad or indifferent I have distinct memories of each and every one of you and I thoroughly enjoyed seeing everyone 5 years ago!  You can post your comments here or email me with ideas if you prefer.  All I know is that I will be there (as always in July) and would love to see any of you that can make it to Tulia.  I hope this finds you all healthy and happy!  Cindi

So, I'm sitting here this morning under a gray, cloudy sky watching the snow melt off the grass. Didn't get much. Don't want much. If I did I'd move north but the damn Yankees are just too cold.

Here's a shout-out to Singer! JK! Pope! Someone will have to send smoke signals to Pope. I don't think he even has a phone or just doesn't know how to use one. Just kidding I talk to him once a month. Shout out to Miller! Miss ya man! Shout out to Cindi and Beverly! And the evil Lee twins! Just kidding. Not, maybe, whatever. Just trying to get under someone's skin and get a holler back.

Got another grandson coming in February. He'll make 4 and there are 3 granddaughters.

Hell of a 2014! Lost my neighbor to cancer. My favorite uncle in LA died in his sleep and his wife passed a month later. But me, hell I'm still kicking and getten younger and better looking every day! My child-within come out every day to play! And what fun we have! Hope you do too!!!!!

Life's worth living my friends! So, LIVE THE HELL OUT OF IT!!  LAUGH AND YOU'LL NEVER GET LOCK JAW!!!!!

"SOMETHING IN THE WATER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jordan,

Hay man. Great to hear from ya. Can't wait to see you and Gleason.

I'm trying to get book one out February/March. Book two is almost finished and I plan on releasing it this fall. It's been a long journey.

It's easy to tell a good yarn. I did that for years. But I discovered it's hard as hell to write one. I spent as much time learning about writing as I did writing.

AND IT'S ALL MY CLASSMATES FAULT! YA'LL ENCOURAGED ME!

But I'll guarantee that at times you'll laugh, cry, gasp, goose-bump up, and sometimes yell HELL YEAH or OH NO!

Thanks ya'll. You helped me discover something that I now love to do. And if I can make a buck or two this will be all that I do.

July 18th! Get her done!!!

Hey JK

I know My Tide fell down and couldn't get up. The Cowboys got cheated by the refs. Guess we'll have to root for the Hornets.
