Deb: No, the teacher wasn't who you're naming. I think you mean Mr. Goen - the big guy - but that's not the one. I never had Mr. Goen. I think this guy's name was Moore and I remember he taught biology/science. That's the name that keeps popping up in my feeble brain but it doesn't mean it's the right one! He didn't stay very long. In fact, I'm not sure he made it through the first semester. As for the dress code Nazi, it was definitely Mr. Atwood who used to stop me in the hall. I usually had on a skirt (rolled up at the waist a couple of times) so when he would tell me my skirt was too short I would just unroll it until I got out of his sight and then roll it back up. I never got sent home but was threatened often. Like Delia said in her profile about me, there wasn't much to see with my short skirts so I wasn't the threat Cheetah and others were (ha ha). I think Donna's little sister, Kay, may hold the record for being sent home the most times. Donna, do you remember?
Jan: I can't vouch for what Mr. Atwood said to you, Melanie or Roxanne but he pretty much outlined for me what is on the minds of young boys (as if I couldn't figure it out on my own). He warned me about inviting boys into my hotel room and preached the virtues of maintaining an unblemished reputation. I tried to explain that the guy wasn't invited . . . he actually showed up next door and an underclassman brought him over, knocked on the door and when we opened it she shoved him in and left! The guy was Val Cox's roommate, Tim Tingle, (yes that's his real name) from Cisco Jr. College. We had spent the day walking around Six Flags with them (we had no alcohol of course so they must've started drinking after we left). Anyway, my mom still has the "melted & stretched" Dr. Pepper bottle that I bought and took home to my dad from that trip!
Lloyd: Thanks for clearing up the leg crossing incident. I don't remember the unnamed female accused of a stance that would allow a truck to drive through but I'm sure it was a most embarrassing moment for her. Also, verify for me whether it's true that on that infamous Dallas trip some of the guys in our class were actually in the room with females ALL NIGHT partying. I'm not saying you were one of them but I thought you might have knowledge (grin). We got in trouble for a 10 minute visit from one guy but we were ratted out somehow and banished to stay on the bus for the trip home. We didn't get to go into Piccadilly's or Furr's (or whatever that restaurant was where the bus always stopped). Anyway, my mother knew about the incident before the bus ever hit Tulia! I'm surprised we weren't forced to brand the letter "A" on our foreheads. Ahhhh, the good old days! Any trouble I ever got into was worth ever bit of the fun I had while in HS.
