I really like Van, he was always smiling, laughing, ready to have fun. I don't remember anything bad about him. There's a picture of him with 3 of his bud's in the photos page, to me that was Van, a fun guy and so full of life, and really cute too.
I can't believe he's gone, my prayers and thoughts go our to his family, and to us who will miss him, from our youth.

Van,

I can't believe your not still with us. Sorry I didn't keep in touch man.

I'll always remember our hanging out together; the fun times, the laughts, the football games, the basketball games, the track meets, and the fusses and fights (though I don't remember what we fussed and fought about).

Your dad saved my grandads life a long time ago and I'm sorry I couldn't save yours man. See you on the other side.

HAPPY - Van Bonds, 58, died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in First Baptist Church of Happy with Mike Kuhlman officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Tulia by Brooks Funeral Home.

Van Bonds was born Dec. 13, 1951, in Tulia to Louie and Jimmie Slack Bonds. He was a loving friend and father.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include three sons, Marc Bonds and wife Tina of Amarillo, Mike Bonds and wife Amy of Canyon and Matt Bonds and wife Brandi of San Diego; seven grandchildren, Hailey, Cameron, Hunter, Braden, Jared, Jacob and Amie-Ann; two sisters, Loretta Peck and husband Kevin of Gothenburg, Neb., and Nancy Jones and husband Jerry of Tulia; and several nieces and nephews.

The family suggests memorials be to American Cancer Society, 3915 S. Bell St., Amarillo, TX 79109.
