Mike Martin rode Cushman motor scooters with me, he had the scars and I have the scars that will verify that.
He is entrenched in so many of the memories of my youth.
I'll bet he has as least as much fun in the next life too. In fond memory...Larry Wells

Mike Martin TULIA -- Funeral services for Mike Martin, 52, of Post, were at 10 a.m. today in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Rob Lindley, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery by Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.
 
Mr. Martin died at 1:40 p.m. Sunday, June 20, 2004, in University Medical Center in Lubbock.
 
He was born Sept. 17, 1951, in Tulia where he grew up and graduated from high school in 1970. He attended North Texas State University and graduated from West Texas State University in 1975. He was a teacher and coach at Lorenzo, Spade, Hart, Wolfforth, Hale Center, Lockney, Gruver, Sudan, New Deal, Kress, Amarillo, Fritch, Bovina and Post. He was a member of the Texas Coaches Association. On July 14, 1973, he married Gayla George in Dumas.
 
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Matthew Martin of Amarillo and Clay Martin of Memphis, Texas; a daughter, Angela Martin of Amarillo; his father, Harold Martin of Tulia; two brothers, Mark Hill of Graham and John Hill of Dallas; one sister, Debbie Cook of Tulia; and two grandsons.
